Tree Giving Time
Spring in the pond...
The ancient cherry tree began to hum. A sound felt more than heard. It rippled through water and air alike. Our turtles gathered in reverent silence.
Then it began ~ the Great Rain of Blossoms.
Pink petals drifted down like gentle snow. Each one glowed faintly as it kissed the water's surface. They floated like tiny boats, creating swirling patterns of rose and pearl across the cove. Young turtles giggled as blossoms landed on their noses, while elders let the petals settle on their shells like delicate crowns.
Fish danced beneath the blossom rain. They leaped and twirled in pure celebration. The whole cove shimmered in magic born of generosity.
Our youngest turtle whispered, "What did we do to deserve this?"
An elder smiled, petals adorning her weathered shell. "Nothing at all, little one. That's the beauty. The tree gives because giving is its nature. It asks nothing in return but our presence, our wonder, our willingness to receive."
The turtles floated in grateful silence as pink petals continued their graceful descent, transforming the ordinary cove into sacred space.
True generosity expects nothing. True grace learns to receive with an open heart
